Summer Accessories – Country Chic

Rural freshness and charm, for the woman with a taste for retro, country-cottage cute and gorgeous fresh florals. Fresh pastels, white, straw, petal, almond, sky, and pale denim, with flounces, frills, lace, embroidery, straw, glass beads go with floral motifs and butterfly emblems for a sweet but sophisticated look …. and accessories to match:

Fabric corsages ... fresh, pale, country charm

Cottage garden freshness and charm in this collection of clips – from the tiny floral jersey knit and chiffon rosebud in the front, to the more exuberant pink corduroy and tulle confection at the back, to the neat dior bows at either side in printed and embroidered florals … where wouldn’t you wear them?

Fabric Corsage ... pink gingham, organza and pearls

Pink gingham cotton gathered flower with organza and pearl detailing ….

Fabric Corsages ... sky blue and white ... bright and fresh

Out of the blue …. sky blue and white floral patterned cotton clips – one a blowsy ruffle, the other a more controlled and sophisticated rose … and both are simply gorgeous.

Inspired by my recently acquired and rejuvenated stash of antique and vintage lace, I’ve indulged myself by creating some pieces of lace jewellery. Two lace chokers in antique ivory lace, one embellished only with a simple silver and pearl droplet at the throat, the other beaded in soft pinks and creams, and a white bead fichu-style necklace.

Summer Accessories – Blush Corsages in vintage lace and cotton

One of this year’s colour themes, “blush”, gives a chic twist to ‘pretty’, with underwear becoming outerwear, glamourous and sensual. Chiffon, lace, satin ribbon, pearls, crystals, mother-of-pearl and feathers in soft natural tones of pink, rosewood, skin, cloud and cyclamen are strong features in this look, so I’ve added to my range of accessories to work with that look:

Old-fashioned charm, invoking nostalgic images of tea-dances and village garden parties, using soft creams and whites with subtle hints of colour, worked in vintage lace, broderie anglaise and scraps of ribbon – these clips work equally well in a formal setting or for a hint of glamour in everyday use.

Still staying with the theme, but moving into the warmer golds and caramels of the season …

Fabric Corsages ... apricot, chocolate and cream

Flowers and butterflies, from soft and subtle golden ribbon roses to bold caramel alice bands and delicious honey-gold carnation ruffles, these accessories give a chic twist to any outfit … and they don’t need a special occasion to be enjoyed.
