It’s the 4th April, so it must be Makeover Monday!
This week, recycled fabric storage boxes:
I’m not big on clutter, but there are some things that have to be kept … so storage boxes are always going to be a neat way of keeping everything together and to hand.
Of course, you could always have plain old boring boxes, but life is too short … and if you have to look at something every day, it might as well be pleasing to the eye as well as functional.
New storage boxes for spring are now available in my shop
I’m a huge fan of Squint … the idea of revamping furniture using fabrics is so appealing, and I love the bright colours and individual styling that makes their pieces so unique and covetable. One day, I hope to be able to afford one of their pieces … until then, I’m contenting myself with imitation (being the sincerest form of flattery ;).
Take one junk shop table, then … it’s a pretty battered repro in bad need of some TLC, but I love the shape of it.
So, a wee bit of sanding, painting, more sanding, more painting, distressing and waxing later, I added some gorgeous vintage fabric from stash to finish it all off, et voila!
I’m really pleased with the outcome … perhaps a little more understated than Squint’s full-on colour and pattern extravagance, but works perfectly with my interior colours. I’ve always loved decorating with fabric, and this is a new extension that I’m looking forward to exploring more (my husband is looking very nervous about that ;).
