Lovely day at Alton Craft & Food Festival, this Saturday just past … it wasn’t gloriously sunny all day, but although it clouded over a couple of times, the rain held off – hooray!
The farmers market was fabulous … so much wonderful local produce, mouthwatering and tantalising … and those cherries! oh. my. word.
I was in a lovely little corner (and, handily, right next to the cashpoint!!) right at the entrance to the craft fair, in a cluster of textile heaven!

Here I was, and right next door I had Mary Sutton, a wonderfully talented Mixed Media artist, with stitched collage pieces like these glorious peacocks:
And then across the way there was Kate D with some beautiful button and glass bead jewellery, and a selection of sweet and fresh textile pieces – bunting and cushions in soft pastels:
And next door to Kate, Yasemin Tas with hand-felted loveliness – bunting, birds, keyrings and these sweet corsages:
It was a busy day, so other than a quick wander for coffee and a bacon roll to get the morning going, and a quick trip across the way when the rain came down at 2:30 (thankfully not long before packing up time!) I didn’t get much of a chance to see who else was around … a double -edged sword! I was pleased I was busy, but I do love the chance for a nosy around the other stalls!
I’m back at Alton in October, and already looking forward to another good day …

Sounds like you had a great day (and good that it stayed fine). Lovely variety of items on your stand.
thanks!! I love going to fairs … so much fun meeting people
